Master Planning
Urban Planner — Master Planning
Master planning is where the expensive mistakes are made or avoided. You will test density distributions, access strategies, and phasing against evidence rather than instinct.
Expect to defend a lower-yield scheme when it is the better plan, and to have the analysis that makes that argument winnable.
Responsibilities
- Prepare master plans and development frameworks for large sites
- Model density, circulation, and open space options against a brief
- Sequence phasing so early parcels stand on their own
- Coordinate with civil, landscape, and transport consultants
- Prepare material for client and authority consultation
Requirements
- Master's in Urban Planning, Urban Design, or equivalent
- 3–6 years in master planning or urban design
- Comfort with GIS and spatial analysis
- Ability to explain a spatial argument to a non-designer
Nice to Have
- Experience with township or mixed-use developments
